Today's topic was a continuation of yesterday's collaborative work, extending it to WikiSpaces and other Learning Management Systems (LMS). Many schools have an LMS already in place. The University of Calgary uses Blackboard; Ontario and the CBE use D2L, and the French teachers in Alberta use Moodle (a free version of D2L).
I have never used a Wiki before, and I created my first today (link below). This is a useful tool as a teacher, as it would help students expand their learning or catch up on classwork they missed due to absence. It will take more than a day for me to become fluent with my wiki (or any LMS, for that matter), but I hope to improve my skills with these programs in order to help my students or their parents with classwork.
